Three top tips for sending payments to the United States of America

Here are FTT’s three top tips for sending payments to the United States:

  1. Correct beneficiary account details. It is important to ensure you have the correct account details before your payment is sent.  If your currency is sent using incorrect beneficiary details, your funds will be returned to FTT. This can end up being a lengthily process because we have to wait for the the receiving bank to return the funds. If you are unsure what information you need a member of our Support Team can talk you through setting the account up on our system or you can view our United States country page for guidance.
  2. Fees & Charges. The only fee FTT will charge is £10 if your currency exchange is under £3,000. We will always advise you of this fee before you agree to make the payment and there are no fees if your transfer is over this amount.  It is not uncommon for banks in America to apply a fee when they receive funds, as this is something which is out of FTT’s control we advise you to check this information with them.
  3. Same-day transfers. We offer a same-day transfer service if you are exchanging Canadian DollarsEuros or British Pounds Sterling  into US Dollars if we receive your funds by midday! If your funds arrive after this time, they will be with the beneficiary the following working day.
